Jeff Price, American Bird Conservancy

Dr. Jeff Price was co-author of the joint American Bird Conservancy/National Wildlife Federation publication The Birdwatcher's Guide to Global Warming and developed the models used in creating the state fact sheets.

He was a lead author on the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Third Assessment Report and the forthcoming IPCC Special Report on Climate Change and Biodiversity and contributed text to the Mid-Atlantic and Great Lakes Regional Reports of the U.S. National Assessment. Jeff received his Ph.D. from Wayne State University (Michigan) for a study of the potential impacts of climate change on the summer distributions of North American grassland birds, one of the first studies to actually model the potential impacts of climate change on wildlife. Jeff is also the coauthor (with Sam Droege and Amy Price) of the Summer Atlas of North American Birds (Academic Press, 1995), and assisted in the development (maps) of the award winning CD-ROM Peterson Multimedia Guides: North American Birds. His relative abundance maps have appeared in Birds of North America, Birds at Your Feeder and A Guide to the Natural History of the Sparrows of the United States and Canada. Before beginning work at American Bird Conservancy, Jeff worked for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service/National Biological Service.
