Peter Sousounis, Great Lakes Regional Climate Change Assessment
Peter Sousounis is Associate Professor of Meteorology at Michigan State University and Director of the Great Lakes Regional Assessment, which is an ongoing effort to examine the impacts of climate change in the region. Dr. Sousounis' research interests include climate and climate change, as well as the study of cyclones, lake effect storms, and other types of weather systems that affect the Great Lakes region. He is particularly interested in how the Great Lakes influence the development of storms that move through the region. Dr. Sousounis received a B.S. in Physics from Drexel University, an M.S. in Meteorology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a Ph.D. in Meteorology from the Pennsylvania State University, and has authored or co-authored over 50 scientific articles on Great Lakes weather.
